The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) celebrated Pride Month with a series of empowering and inclusive activities.
LRTA kicked off the celebration by displaying supportive Pride Month posters in various LRT2 stations. The authority also painted walkways with rainbow colors, which symbolize diversity and inclusion. Employees enthusiastically participated in a Pride Month Parade within the LRTA Depot, showcasing colorful banners and attire that reflected the diversity and unity of the LGBTQ+ community. The celebration culminated in a lively pageant event.
LRTA Administrator Atty. Hernando T. Cabrera congratulated the entire LRTA on a successful celebration of Pride Month and expressed hope that these efforts will be expanded in the coming years.
“LRTA is committed to moving forward with the changing times, addressing the evolving needs of both our employees and passengers,” Cabrera stated.
As part of its ongoing efforts to promote inclusivity, LRTA has created the Mobility, Inclusivity, and Accessibility Committee. This committee represents our commitment to fostering a more inclusive environment in the railway.
“Our goal is to create an environment where everyone feels respected, valued, and empowered, This celebration of Pride Month is just one step in our ongoing journey towards true inclusivity and equality for all,” Cabrera concluded.
