Over 19,000 individuals availed of the ‘Libreng Sakay’ program on Labor Day at LRT-2. The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) requested the Light Rail Transit Authority to provide free rides as a gesture of appreciation for the hard work and contributions of Filipino workers.
Commuters were able to enjoy free rides from 7:00 to 9:00 in the morning and 5:00 to 7:00 in the evening, providing relief and convenience, especially for the working class.
Atty. Hernando T. Cabrera, the LRTA Administrator, emphasized the significance of this initiative, stating, “We recognize the tremendous efforts of our workforce and believe they deserve acknowledgment, particularly on Labor Day.”
The LRTA remains committed to improving its services and infrastructure to ensure a more efficient, safe, and enjoyable commuting experience for all passengers.
