On June 16, 2024, the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA), in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross-Marikina Chapter, organized a special event to honor fathers on Father’s Day. This event took place at Araneta – Center Cubao Station and Antipolo Station, where fathers were offered free Blood Pressure Monitoring, Blood Sugar Testing, Haircuts, and Massages. 

These services were aimed at promoting fathers’ health and well-being, as well as showing appreciation for their hard work and dedication to their families. This initiative showcased the LRTA’s dedication not only to providing efficient transportation services but also to giving back to the community and acknowledging the vital role that fathers play in society. 

In addition to the free services, the LRTA launched an online contest called “kaTATAY-wanan (#TRENding Corny Jokes ni Tatay)”.  Participants were encouraged to share their father’s corniest joke in the comments section of the Facebook post, along with their father’s name. Ten lucky winners were awarded with Two-Week Unlimited Ride on LRT Line 2. 

The LRTA expresses its appreciation to all the fathers who took part in the event and remains committed to organizing similar initiatives in the future to support and recognize its valued passengers.
