In the spirit of compassion and community service, on November 19, 2024, the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) Line 2, conducted a meaningful Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative aimed at supporting families affected by Typhoon Kristine in Laurel, Batangas, Philippines. This humanitarian effort reflects LRTA’s commitment to serving not only its passengers but also the broader community in times of need.

The CSR activity involved the distribution of bags of groceries to families who suffered from the devastating impact of the typhoon. These grocery bags, thoughtfully prepared with food items, were intended to provide immediate relief and comfort to the victims as they began the process of recovery.

The event  brought  together LRTA employees and the Municipality of  Laurel Batangas, headed by Mayor Lyndon M. Bruce and ABC Kap. Brandon M. Bruce,  in a unified effort to uplift the spirits of affected residents. The LRTA team demonstrated not just generosity but also empathy, engaging with the community and offering words of encouragement.

This initiative is part of LRTA’s broader advocacy for social responsibility, demonstrating how public service institutions can go beyond their primary functions to foster hope and resilience in times of crisis. Through this activity, the LRTA reiterated its solidarity with the people of Laurel, Batangas, and reinforced the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing the challenges brought about by natural calamities.

The LRTA remains steadfast in its mission to contribute to the welfare of the communities it serves, ensuring that even beyond the tracks, it remains a partner in building a better and more compassionate society.
