The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) joins the nation in celebrating National Women’s Month this March, recognizing the vital contributions of women to society and reaffirming our commitment to gender equality and empowerment.

This year’s theme, “Babae sa Lahat ng Sektor, Aangat ang Bukas sa Bagong Pilipinas,” emphasizes the importance of women’s empowerment and the promotion of equitable access to resources and opportunities in public transportation.

To kick off the celebration,  employees joined the flag raising ceremony wearing purple clothes on Monday, March 3. A complimentary hotdog sandwich and coffee were served following the ceremony.

Banners and streamers were displayed across all LRT-2 stations, and at the Line 1 and Line 2 Depots.

“This Women’s Month celebration reflects the LRTA’s dedication to honoring the invaluable contributions of women in our organization and society,” said Administrator Hernando Cabrera. “Our activities are designed to celebrate women while highlighting our ongoing commitment to gender equality and creating inclusive spaces within our railway system,” he added.

Cabrera emphasized that the agency continues to implement policies and initiatives that promote gender-responsive services across all LRT-2 stations, ensuring that female passengers and employees receive equal opportunities and support.
