In a significant move aimed at improving transportation connectivity, the Department of Transportation (DOTr), the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA), and Robinsons Land Corporation (RLC) have come together to sign a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA).
The MOA, signed on Tuesday, paves the way for a seamless travel experience between LRT-2 Marikina Pasig Station and Robinsons Metro East.
The agreement formalizes the commitment of both parties to provide an efficient interconnection link that will enhance the commuting experience for the public.
“The interconnection access is beyond building simple infrastructure,” said DOTr Asec. Jorjette B. Aquino. “It is a step towards the government’s effort to promote a seamless commuting experience for the riding public. Robinsons’ earnest cooperation with the LRTA testifies to their commitment to facilitating efficient transportation to the people,” she added.
“Let’s move full speed ahead towards the resurgence of the Philippine railway system as we build better, build more, for a comfortable, accessible, safe, and sustainable transportation system for all Filipinos,” Asec. Aquino concluded.
Atty. Hernando T. Cabrera, LRTA Administrator, expressed gratitude to Robinsons Land for their cooperation in facilitating the necessary right of way for the project. He believes that this collaboration sets a positive precedent for future partnerships, emphasizing the importance of streamlined processes in delivering projects that prioritize the comfort and accessibility of Filipino commuters.
“The project aligns with Robinsons Land’s commitment to facilitating efficient transportation,” said Mr. Joel Lumanlan, VP for Operations & Marketing. RLC also hopes to provide LRT2 customers with a convenient connection to Robinsons Metro East through the “Ride, Link, and Celebrate” experience.
Key attendees from Robinsons include Mr. Myron Lawrence Yao, Operations Director for NCR Malls, Atty. Ronald Agustin Estrada, Senior Legal Director, and Roseanne Villegas, Corporate Public Relations Director.
Representatives from LRTA present at the signing include Paul Chua, Deputy Administrator for Operations and Engineering, Atty.
